Operation Balboa by High Tech High With the generous support of Bill and Shirley Kimmich and the creative project-based learning expertise of the prestigious and cutting-edge High Tech High, we will be engaging the Greater San Diego High Schools to create the world's largest version of the retro-game called OPERATION. The human body will be divided into about 200 pizza box sized sections and each participating High School will create a high resolution (anatomically detailed) "Operation" style game of that section of the body. In addition to the surgical removal of specific body parts, the Students will be encouraged to dream about potential new implantable "bionic" parts to incorporate. All of the sections will come together (in an AIDS quilt type fashion) at the San Diego Science Festival Expo Weekend where it will be on display for viewing by 15,000 visitors. This could go into the Guinness Book of Records.
