NOMINATE A NIFTY 150!

 

The Nifty 50 is now the Nifty 150.  We are seeking more inspiring science professionals to volunteer their unique story by presenting to classrooms in San Diego County as a part of the San Diego Science Festival!

You can nominate a scientist by completing the information below to be a part of this wonderful community event in February, March and April 2010!

 

New this year, the Nifty 150 is comprised of three groups: Science N50, Engineering N50, and Science Related Professionals N50. Science Related Professionals can be in traditional STEM fields as well as nontraditional areas such as communications, psychology, arts and humanities, law enforcement, and logistics.

Participating speakers will be placed in middle or high school classrooms and will interface with 1–2 classes. The kids will want to know about the scientists’ personal interest in science, the journey that led them to their career, and what they actually do in their job. Relating to students, making science accessible, and teaching kids that science-based careers are attainable are the key goals of the Nifty 150 program.

About the Nifty 150: Our goal is to bring the most inspiring science professionals into classrooms to reach over 150 middle and high school classrooms in San Diego -  from February to April, 2010. This program is a critical element of the San Diego Science Festival that brings a personalized face of science to our students and nurtures the STEM pipeline in San Diego.
