The numbers add up ---- more than 50,000 people attended the San Diego Science Festival's family-flavored Expo Day at Balboa Park last year, so many that organizers have moved the free event March 27 to Petco Park downtown.
Attendees can roam the concourse area of the ballpark and visit more than 150 science-related booths, many with hands-on activities.
Expo Day is one of the signature events of the San Diego Science Festival, a monthlong celebration of science and learning that takes place at schools, libraries, universities and public locations. The event is run by UC San Diego in partnership with public agencies and private companies in the region. The festival, in its second year, offers numerous events and activities, with Expo Day again expected to bring in huge crowds of young science fans and their families.
